To the spectroscopy group within the Chemical Analysis department we are now looking for a new specialist with the mission to build competence, perform analysis, trouble shoot and develop advanced analytical methods.

As a specialist you will be responsible for method development and validation within the spectroscopy area. Within this area you also continuously develop the competence, actively follow the scientific development and establish and maintain scientifically networks.

You establish good relations with the internal customers and serve them with both short term problem solving and active support in RD&I projects.

Furthermore you generate and evaluate ideas, at a fundamental level, and actively contribute with your knowledge within AkzoNobel. You also initiate internal and external collaboration projects and present and publish results at internal and external courses or in scientific papers.

Kvalifikationer
To qualify for the position you need a PhD in analytical chemistry. You need five years of relevant experience of spectroscopy or similar. Knowledge and expertise in ICP is desirable, but not required. Also experience in FTIR and/or XRF is highly relevant.

As a person you probably have an excellent ability to communicate with internal and external customers and experts in different disciplines and levels. You are a good team-worker with ability to build working relationships and motivate and engage others. You have an open minded but structural approach with good problem solving skills.

You need to be fluent in English both written and spoken.

The department is working with research and development projects, market support, trouble shooting and development of new analytical methods. Chemical Analysis is also performing analysis of raw material, products and environmental samples for the producing units of AkzoNobel PPC. Twenty three people are working at the department, mainly within the competence areas of wet chemistry, spectroscopy and chromatography.
