It is a public, non-fee paying school which also follows the Swedish National Curriculum (LPO). The school has 350 students in preschool - grade 10, 100 students in the Diploma Programme and about 60 employees.
The students of ISH come from many different cultures and the staff work, in an environment of mutual respect, to create an internationally recognized education. The school strives to develop the students academic and social skills in order to prepare them in the best way for the future.

• Advice on special needs and special needs students;
• Suggestions about the learning situation and environment;
• Differentiation of the curriculum to meet individual needs;
• Advice on differentiation of subject material/how to reach the objectives and/or goals;
• Support on mapping student needs and completing referrals;
• Input for writing effective action plans;
• Finding relevant information/books on specific learning needs/diagnoses;
• Behavioural issues;
Teach one-to-one or small groups depending on the need – language, Math concept work, all other curriculum subjects, organization and other skills;
Liaise with class/subject teachers to ensure a holistic approach to the student’s learning;
Teach after-school support lessons on a weekly basis;
Use a structured, multi-sensory language teaching programme when needed using one of the courses the school has bought in – Alpha to Omega, Hickey, Toe-to-Toe, MULTILIT;
Communicate with class/subject teachers about students in the special needs department,
Support teachers in communicating with parents, eg attend/facilitate parent/teacher meetings;
Internal assessment of students referred to the special needs department;
KvalifikationerTeaching Special Needs to students in an IB primary years programme.
Must be a qualified Special Needs teacher. Fluency in English is a necessary prerequisite for employment, as well as IBO training and IBO teaching experience.
