Sourcing Vehicle is a global team (buyers located in Japan, China, India, Thailand, Brazil, US, France and Sweden) in charge of defining strategies, selecting and managing suppliers and negotiating contractual agreements for the entire automotive production components. We work in close cooperation with our engineering counter parts in the early phases of development to establish a common technical/sourcing road map.
Group Trucks Purchasing is working in a process flow where Sourcing, Projects & Operations activities are tightly connected.
We are now looking for a Sourcing buyer with global responsibilities within chassis equipment.
You will have the key purchasing role to mature the purchasing wanted position and strategy in a cross functional mode with engineering, service market, quality, sales and manufacturing as main stakeholders.
You will be located in either Lyon (France) or Gothenburg (Sweden) as a part of a team with 5 buyers located in US, India and France.
Main responsibilities:
• Be an expert on the related segment, in charge of defining purchasing sourcing strategy, selecting and managing suppliers, in link with technical roadmaps to support Volvo's strategic objectives
• Drive purchasing activities in cross-functional product projects in early phases, to deliver commitments fulfilling project gates and at the right Quality-, Delivery-, Cost- and Feature level
• Negotiate contractual agreements with the development suppliers
• Contribute to and lead cost saving activities
• Supplier host role for strategic segment across commodities and BA/BU
• Drive synergies and share best practices within the Volvo Group.

France (Lyon) or Sweden (Gothenburg)

Qualifications:
• Degree in Business, Engineering or related field and or equivalent experience
• 3 years' experience in Purchasing and/or extensive negotiation experience with a supplier/customer relationship
• Negotiation skills and drive to look for cost improvement opportunities
• Good communication skills and positive mindset
• Strong interest in developing relationships with stakeholders
• Strong team player, self-starter and the ability to take initiatives and complete tasks
• Strategic understanding and thinking
• Analytical skills. Result oriented
• Honesty and integrity
• Willingness to travel from occasionally to frequently based on ongoing activities.
