At Volvo Buses in Uddevalla, we mix a legacy of welding from the shipbuilding industry with precision and accuracy from decades of local car manufacturing! Together we manufacture frames and structures of the highest quality for world-class buses in our semi-automated manufacturing processes. You will be part of the Industrial Engineering team.

Role description
You will be managing a multitude of welding projects and supervising the welding team. The responsibilities of a Welding Engineer include providing consulting services, coordinating various projects, and overseeing the welding procedure.
Your main focus
An absolute focus on, and perhaps the most important assignment of all, is getting people onboard and to support our development. You will be overseeing a team of Welders, leading various welding projects, analyzing engineering designs for welding requirements.
You will also review existing welding procedures, processes, and documentation, you will conduct failure analyses and cause analyses on welding issues. Moreover, you are responsible for managing welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing and welding teams.
Who are you?
To be successful as a Welding Engineer, you should be computer literate, possess an understanding of mechanical and structural components, and be a great team worker. Ultimately, a top-notch Welding Engineer should have superior proficiency in welding, good organizational skills, and possess a safety-oriented mindset.
Required knowledge/experience
Licensed Engineer with a degree in Welding Engineering (IWE certificate)
Previous experience in Welding Engineering
Experience with welding, specializing in flux cored wires and solid wires
Solid leadership skills
Strong organizational and administrative skills
