Product Unit Solid Round Tools at Sandvik Coromant is responsible for the development of the Solid Round Tools portfolio of products and know-how. This spans everything from understanding customer and market needs, to developing our offering and ensuring a consistent implementation of the offering. We are now looking for a manager to continue developing our position within the area, with high set targets to gain market shares - someone who is well prepared for driving change. In this role, you are part of the management team for Product Management and R&D, and you report directly to the VP Product Management R&D.
The location for this position is flexible between Sheffield (UK), Stockholm (Sweden) or Rovereto (Italy), and travelling is a natural part of the job.
Key performance areas
As a Senior Manager for Solid Round Tools, you ensure that Sandvik Coromant has a competitive offering in the area with respect to performance and profitability. You will be a key driver to support and execute the set sales development plan together with our sales areas. You collaborate with line managers to align the product and application tactics with the financial targets, and with the Product Management and R&D Management team to create common plans for our segment, products and technologies. Involvement in well-selected customer projects is also an important part of this position.
Furthermore, you are responsible for product development of concepts, grades and knowledge, which includes the whole spectra from project management and customer needs analysis to prototyping and verification of design. By ensuring that results from knowledge development are implemented in the product development process, you establish knowledge platforms for product development and ensure that we maintain competence in your area of responsibility; all the way from applications and tool life requirements to methodologies and trends.
To meet the departments goals in key competence areas, you empower employees with the skills necessary for each position.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree in a relevant field of studies and five to ten years' experience from working in a managing position within sales, product management, product development or R&D. You have good knowledge of applications and production technology in the machining industry, as well as of product management and processes and methods in product development. You also have good financial understanding and a proven track record from successfully driving change. As we are acting on the global stage, your communication skills in English need to be excellent.
