Your Position
We are expanding our dynamic Legal & Compliance team and searching for a Senior Legal Counsel to join Toyota Material Handling Europe. In this role you will support the TMHE Group and lead the legal strategy for data governance and cybersecurity, supporting the organisations tactical and strategic work and compliance efforts in the area. This is an opportunity for you who enjoys working in an international environment and cross functionally, cooperating with key individuals and stakeholders.
In this role you will report to the General Counsel, the role is based in Mjölby, with the possibility to work partly remotely.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead our data governance and cybersecurity strategy and keep stakeholders informed on key legal and regulatory developments.
* Translate strategy into concrete plans and drive implementation across the organization.
* Advise management teams and committees on legal matters related to data governance and cybersecurity.
* Drive and provide strategic overview for projects and initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and legal requirements.
* Develop, review, and implement internal policies.
* Monitor regulatory changes and collaborate across Europe to ensure stakeholder readiness, legal alignment, and best practices.
* Report to the GRC Committee
Your Profile
* 8-10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with knowledge in data protection, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance in an international corporate environment or law firm.
* Genuine understanding of data governance frameworks, cybersecurity regulations, and related EU legislation (e.g., GDPR, NIS2, DORA).
* Solid experience from working with internal compliance activities such as audits, risk assessments and reporting obligations related to data governance and cybersecurity.
* A hands-on mindset and the confidence to step in proactively when you see opportunities.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Swedish and English, with the ability to influence decision-making and educate stakeholders on compliance & risk.
* Master's degree in law (LL.M or equivalent)
