We in the Electric and Electronics (E&E) Platform department is on an exciting and challenging journey and need to expand our team. We are now recruiting several System Engineers within different areas of expertise to help drive development and implementation of new and existing technology.
We develop and provide Volvo CE machines with Base EE system platforms used as the foundation and enabler for all electronic controlled functions and features to support connectivity, service solutions, autonomous functions, electromobility as well as machine operational functions making Volvo CE to be one of the best machines in the world. We are responsible to drive, develop and maintain our Electronic Architecture platform commonly used by all machines within Volvo CE.
About the position Senior Functional safety engineer
We are looking for a Senior Functional safety engineer to drive and lead the development in different projects within the area. To build up safety systems, which is to meet one of the core values of Volvo CE, there are many challenges to design and implement proper functional safety system. You will contribute with technical expertise to build concepts and solutions to secure the functional safety aspects. This requires identifying what the required safety functions are, assessment of the risk-reduction required by the safety function, ensuring the safety function performs to the design intent, verification, and conducting functional safety audits.
In this role, you have opportunities not only to apply your current skills but also to acquire new skills to ensure that our products meet Functional safety requirements. Maybe you are our future specialist in the area!

Required qualifications
Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or other relevant technical field of study or equivalent practical experience
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and you either speak Swedish or you are eager to learn a new language
Beneficial qualifications
It is meritorious to have one or more of the following:
Experience of working with electrical and/or electronic system in the automotive industry
Knowledge about safety-relevant embedded system and software
Good understanding of robust and reliable system/software engineering/design principles
Knowledgeable of functional safety standards, such as IEC61508, ISO13849, ISO19014 or ISO26262 is essential knowledge for this role.
