This role will require spending some time in the company's office/residence in the Östersund area to manage projects in this region.
Aura Energy is an Australian Stock Exchange listed mineral explorer with a portfolio of quality projects in Sweden, Africa and Australia which range from advanced resource definition stage to greenfields exploration.
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, this independent and hands-on position is responsible for:
• Managing and executing exploration programmes on the company's portfolio of projects in Sweden, including:
• Development of exploration targets
• Supervision of drilling programmes and other exploration work, field staff and contractors
• Ensuring safety and environmental standards are met
• Maintaining good relations with local landowners and local Kommun
• Pro-actively managing all logistical requirements of the exploration programme
• Provide management to exploration programs and personnel/contractors
• Plan and implement the programs needed, to successfully bring the program to a conclusion
• Build Aura's portfolio of projects
• Interpret and evaluate geochemical/geological results
• Provide technical reports when required
This role interacts with and influences a variety of people including company directors, consultants, government, land owners and joint venture partners.
The role will suit a Geologist with 8+ years experience with at least 3 years exploration experience. You should have a high level of professionalism. Additionally you should have:
• A degree in Geology and possibly post graduate experience
• Experience in mineral exploration and have hands on experience with a range of exploration methods including drilling and sampling methods.
• Excellent communication skills including being fluent in English
• Computer skills in programs such as GIS, (Mapinfo), Discover and MS office would be preferable.
