The design of the radio network architecture of mobile networks and the interworking between radio access network and core network as well as the placement of functionality is of crucial importance for Ericsson to provide competitive offerings. Technology trends have led to drastic changes in how networks are built, and this technology area is expected to be a field of continued rapid evolution and an increased flexibility in design options.
For the Research Area Network Architecture and Protocols (NAP) it is of central and utmost importance to stay in lead of technology aspects related to the radio network architecture and the interworking with core network functionality. The position holder shall participate in and drive standardization in relevant areas, define long-term research strategies, interact closely with internal technology and product development units and contribute to Ericsson's external communication to strengthen our position within the area of radio network architecture.
