The Electromobility organization is responsible for the complete development lifecycle from advanced engineering, through product development into the maintenance phase. We drive the transition from conventional powertrains to electromobility and secure a stepwise implementation in different segments/regions. This organization develops and drives the electromobility component/product portfolio for Trucks & Buses as well creating opportunities for all business areas within Volvo Group. Electromobility is one of the keys to achieving sustainable mobility for the future.

Core responsibilities
We are now looking for a Senior Engineer Electric Motor to join Motor Drive System Design and Hardware team. In this position the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a proven capability and experience in Electric Motor design and development roles as well as experience from integration of the technology in electric and hybrid power trains.
The main responsibilities will be to:
Put requirements on the components towards the supplier. Interact with
the supplier and manage the work distribution.
Contribute to technology planning with a strategic approach
Lead development work with suppliers and technology partners
Responsible for recommending and selecting suppliers and components
Drive the release process within Volvo

You qualify if you have:
MSc. in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering with knowledge in the area of the design of Electric Motors
Proven experience in technology development within electric motor systems
Electric and hybrid vehicle drivetrains knowledge
Excellent spoken and written English
Experience to work cross functional with both internal and external suppliers
There are many opportunities for broaden responsibility against component ownership and planning and coordination rolls like Scrum master.
