We develop components and systems to secure the engine installation for Heavy Trucks, Cab over engine, within GTT.
This includes Cooling layout & performance, Cooling package installation, Expansion tank, Air intake system, Fan installation, Oil fill & check, Noise absorbents and Pipes & Hoses for coolant system.
In our work we have contact with other business areas and units like GTO, Powertrain engineering, Bus and Construction Equipment as well as Vehicle engineering colleagues at the sites in Lyon, Greensboro, Curitiba and Bangalore. Supplier involvement is very important as well.
For the future we are faced with a challenge to handle the coming emission legislations for noise and exhausts which put restrictions on the performance of the cooling system, as well as increasing the amount of heat to be handled.
Senior Design Engineer, Cooling package and Expansion tank
Job Description
In the area of Cooling package and performance we are now looking for a Senior Design Engineer to reinforce the teams deliveries.
The Cooling package consists of Cooling module, Recirculation shields, Expansion tank etc
As a design engineer working with the cooling package, you will be responsible for the installation of the complete cooling module, design and development of recirculation shields and expansion tank among others.
In your work there will be daily contacts with other departments and suppliers around the world (Europe, India, Brazil).
You will have your own field of responsibilities such as mentioned components, installation, functions and time plans in our projects.
You are also responsible for leading the cross functional anchoring in the projects, working close together with other stakeholders such as Manufacturing, Purchasing and Aftermarket (Engineering Task Leader).
Main Deliveries
• Design and installation of components in the specific area
• Secure quality and readiness before release of components and installations
• Drive technical dialogue with Manufacturing and Aftermarket
• Contribute to the team with a positive mindset
There will be opportunities to work with development in all phases, from early pre studies to maintenance (quality and cost improvement).
We work in a very international environment in cross functional teams. There are good opportunities for personal development within the position.
The main tools, besides your own competence and common sense, will be Creo Parametric, KOLA, AVP, Protus and other in-house developed tools.

Qualifications and skills:
• Experience from product development, automotive industry/mechanics,using CAD >4 years (Creo Parametric)
• High material knowledge for aluminium, plastic and rubber.
• Knowledge in different manufacturing techniques.
• Knowledge in cooling system and functionality.
• Engineering degree in relevant field.
