Site Management & Monitoring (SMM) Nordic is part of the Development Operations. Here, we complete and deliver Clinical Studies and our Nordic department contributes with a substantial part of the SMM delivery. Clinical studies are delivered in close collaboration with partners in health care and academic medical institutions.

We are looking for a Senior Director, Cluster Head to lead our Nordic SMM organization. The role is a 12 month temporary role, with possibility to extension or conversion to be permanent in the future.

What you'll do

As Senior Director, Cluster Head (SrDCH), you are accountable for delivering the committed part of all clinical interventional studies under their supervision according to agreed resources, budget and timelines aligning with Astra Zeneca Procedural Documents, international guidelines such as ICH-GCP as well as relevant local regulations.

You'll lead a dedicated group of staff across four Nordic countries, manage the local leadership team as well as the planning and utilization of staff resources, assigned budget, objective setting and performance follow-up.

We see you as a trusted and valuable member of the Regional SMM Leadership Team and of the Nordic Medical and Regulatory Leadership Team. You will have your base either at our new Solna Marketing Company site in Stockholm or in Copenhagen and you need to be able to travel nationally and internationally as requested.

Typical Accountabilities:

Collaborates to ensure an efficient SMM organisation and its functioning at country level

Is responsible for successful delivery of SMM study delivery countries level targets to plan, including quality improvement of the study processes and procedures
*

Ensures completeness and timeliness of the eTMF to maintain it "Inspection Ready"
*

Oversees Local Study Associate Directors (LSADs) and Local Study teams in forecasting study timelines, resources, recruitment, study materials and medication, including providing direction on major study commitments
*

Collaborates closely with the Nordic local Marketing Teams and represents SMM team within the Marketing Company Medical and Regulatory Leadership Team
*

Represents AstraZeneca in local pharma companies networks and associations to actively shape the clinical research environment within the countries



Essential for the role

You hold a BSc in Life Sciences or other relevant field with substantial experience (+ 10 years) in Development Operations. Furthermore, you are an experienced and inclusive leader. Your detailed understanding of the Clinical Operation and Country Operation setup is essential, as well as a strategic approach.

To be successful in this role, you need to have excellent interpersonal skills. You have a high level of cultural sensitivity and interactive communication - leading to effective cross country collaborations. Furthermore, you are a dedicated leader who manages change with a positive approach to the challenges of change for both the team and the business.
