As a Senior Digital Modeler you will be part of a project modelling team with responsibility to deliver Digital shape models in time and with a quality according to agreed standards. The job covers all aspects of digital modelling from sketch to class A and interior/exterior work. Good understanding and knowledge of design and shape. Very good communication skills. Ability to work in a sometimes stressful and demanding environment is important. You will need to have ability to interact and fit into a small, highly motivated, multi-functional team that is working in a rapid, simultaneous engineering environment. The role offers the rare opportunity to take ownership in the development of new vehicles.
Responsibilities and tasks
The successful candidate must have the ability to meet tight deadlines, have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to work independently. You must be able to establish and maintain a professional working relationship with external and internal teams at all levels across the company. Typical job duties may include but are not limited to the following:
* Responsible for delivering digital shape models based on scan data, design/physical models, sketches or verbal instructions.
* Understand and implement technical input in the design model.
* Visualize your work for designers, managers prior to release/milling to identify problems with design or model quality.
* Have a pronounced role in developing methods and processes for the Digital modelling group at Geely design.
* Lead and support the Digital modelling team
Requirements
* Expert skills in using Alias or Icem Surf.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in digital modelling.
* A very good understanding and knowledge of design, shape and technical demands.
* Ability to work in cross functional teams and lead a modelling team.
* Very strong drive.
* Technical university or/and equivalent, solid working experience (minimum 15 years) from automotive industry is required.
* Strong interest in Automotive technology.
* Fluent in English. Spoken and written.
* Need to be willing to share your knowledge with other members of the team.
Beneficial.
* Knowledge VRED is a plus.
* CATIA experience is a plus.
* Teamcenter experience.
