Data & Analytics at electrification development is a newly established team. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist who wants the opportunity to shape and contribute to our mission. As a part of the team, you will be crucial in bringing insights from data to support the development of world-class electric commercial vehicles.
As Senior Data Scientist you will be in the driving seat on how we can leverage insights to take better decisions in our product development. This is an opportunity to evolve how Scania uses insights from data in the development of battery electric trucks and buses.
Recruiting Manager Georg von Zedtwitz-Liebenstein, Head of Data Analytics, describes his leadership as follows:
I believe that my most important contribution as a manager is to equip the team with the needed capabilities to succeed. This includes everything from facilitating the team's development, to clarifying our objectives for the team to be confident in their decision-making.
What you'll do:
• Work closely with cross-functional teams of engineers, analysts, product owners, and others across the org. to develop impactful insights to drive product development and engineering decisions.
• Identify the most impactful opportunities for insight development based on user needs and execute them together with the rest of the team.
• Build and maintain user-oriented dashboards and actionable data visualizations.
• Be a go-to person for data science practices, to enable data-driven decision-making at scale.
Preferably you have some of the skills listed below:
We put a lot of focus on your traits and that you'll be a good fit for our team so if you don't tick all the boxes apply anyway.
• 5+ years of demonstrated ability in a similar data scientist role.
• MSc in computer science, engineering, statistics, mathematics, economics, or another relevant field of study.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional audiences (e.g Product, Engineering, Strategy).
• Experience analyzing large datasets in a cloud-based data processing environment.
• Ability to make data understandable to both technical and non-technical audiences using appropriate visualization techniques.
• Coding skills, ideally in languages such as Python.
• Pragmatic, yet curious and open-minded to exploring new ways of doing things.
How it is to work at Scania:
We offer a flexible way of working to balance work and your personal life. You will have the opportunity to share your working time between our offices in Södertälje, our coworking hub in Stockholm and working from home. Scania's culture is characterized by openness, diversity, and respect for the individual. The people who work here are our most important asset, so we will invest in you to help you grow with us.
