hela Sverige This role is part of the GE Healthcare (GEHC) Global Law & Policy team reporting to the Senior Compliance Counsel for Life Sciences.
Essential Responsibilities:
In this high-visibility role, you will work within a global team to build and enhance the compliance & integrity program for GE's $5B Life Sciences business (bioprocess, cell therapy, imaging pharmaceuticals, genomics/cell research). Responsibilities extend to program analysis, creative & effective use-of-data to mitigate risk, and providing strategic advice to assist business activities.
Program: Establish and maintain compliance infrastructure aligned with law and policy. Develop and support program including policy/procedure, counseling, training, communications, monitoring/auditing, risk assessment, investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective & preventative actions
Project Management: Provide strategic input on global projects that support elements of an effective compliance program. Collaborate with Legal, Finance & HR colleagues to deliver compliance support efficiently to business. As needed, manage outside counsel.
Commercial: Consult business clients on commercial deals and collaborate with legal colleagues, including advising on fraud & abuse, regulatory, privacy, antitrust and advertising/promotional legal issues. Assess risk for new business activities.
Business Development: Participate in compliance-focused integration for M&A/JV.
Metrics: Develop measurable metrics consistent with GE and GEHC program.
Execution: Protect business interests through effective counseling, including scoping go-to-market risk in new business activities and demonstrating value to business leaders
Investigations: Conduct in-business investigations as needed. Support others conducting ongoing investigations. Spot trends and areas-of-focus for corrective action and targeted training/communications.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Qualifying law degree (undergraduate degree inlaw, LLM, JD, or equivalent)
Significant experience in firm or corporate practice focusing on pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotechnology, and/or medical device industries
Knowledge of- and experience in compliance counseling including US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), UK Bribery Act, European anti-corruption laws, US health care laws (Anti-Kickback Statute, False ClaimsAct), drug/device regulations, and antitrust laws
Strong project management, prioritization and critical thinking skills
Able to work independently on complex issues with multiple clients and short timelines
Attention to detail that ensures issues are investigated promptly and thoroughly
Global mindset, able to deal with people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
Desired Characteristics:
Demonstrated ability to provide clear advice in a highly regulated environment
Experience in biomanufacturing, biologics,genomics & cellular/viral therapy
Deep understanding of legal issues in digital health, biotechnology & life sciences
Significant experience providing clear, concise advice to business teams
Proficiency in spotting trends and quantifying risk in large data sets
Understanding of how adult learning and behavioral psychology can improve program effectiveness
Experience from working in a corporate setting with proven ability to resolve problems and work tactically and persuasively with senior leaders
