Nordregio is looking for a Senior Cartographer/GIS analyst to join our team. The Senior Cartographer/GIS Analyst is expected to have special skills within a technical field for which there is a need at Nordregio (e.g. data analysis, GIS, project management, statistics, etc.).
Requirements
Employment as Senior Cartographer/GIS Analyst requires a master's or PhD degree (180-450 ECTS) or other formal qualifications of equivalent accreditation.
At least five years of relevant experience in research and practice after acquiring a master's degree or two years after acquiring a PhD.
Extensive skills within his or her field, be it GIS, geo-database, statistics and project management.
At least three years of project management experience.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to take a creative approach to complex problems.
Highly motivated with the ability to work independently, as well as the skills to work effectively in a cooperative research environment.
Well-developed communication skills including the ability to network and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partner organisations.
Ability and willingness to contribute to Nordregio's commitment to fostering a supportive and equitable workplace.
The applicant must be fluent in English as well as a Nordic language. Additional languages are appreciated.
What we offer
The position starts as soon as possible - or subject to agreement. Nordregio offers contracts with a maximum length of four years. Subject to further agreement, the contract can be extended for up to four additional years. If you are currently employed by the State in a Nordic country, you are entitled to a leave of absence from your present position for the duration of your employment at Nordregio according to the agreement "Avtale om rettstilling for samnordiske institusjoner og deres ansatte". Candidates relocating from another Nordic country to Sweden are offered a relocation package as well as a monthly salary addition.
