Internationella Engelska Skolan in Hässelby is now recruiting a Science teacher to teach Grade 8. This creates an opportunity to work in an international and stimulating environment where commitment to education, a professional approach to the teacher role, and an interest and love for the English language are common denominators!
IES Hässelby Strand opened in August 2011 as part of the Internationella Engelska Skolan organization (Grades 4 - 9). We prepare students for success in a safe learning environment where teachers can teach and students can learn. We are now recruiting excellent teachers and staff to be part of a hard-working team that is the foundation of this school.
The core philosophy of the school can be summarised by three points: To Master the English Language, to have High Academic Expectations and to study in a Calm and Safe Learning Environment. We work hard to make these ideals a reality in our school. We have clear rules and expectations on our students. We use the concept of tough love, which means helping students to realise their full potential by making lessons and work challenging and by having regular homework and assessments. Half of the subjects are taught in English by native English speakers and half taught in Swedish by native Swedish speakers. We follow all school laws as set out by Skolverket/Skolinspektionen.
All of our teachers are fully educated teachers. Being a positive and cooperative team player is a must. In addition to teaching meaningful and enjoyable lessons, all staff are expected to be well organised, take pride in their mentorship and other school duties and be good role models for our students.
Internationella Engelska Skolan is a leading independent school group (friskola), reaching academic results far above average. It was founded in 1993 by Ms Barbara Bergström, a science teacher, originally from the US.
