Background
Climate change is the ultimate safety test. Therefore, we at Volvo Cars are committed to going fully electric by 2030 and mastering the batteries is one of the main keys for us to success! We have taken a big step towards our aim by launching our first Battery Electric Vehicle, the XC40 P8 Recharge. It is powered by an in-house designed battery developed by our great battery team in Gothenburg! You can now be a part of the next step? We are now working on a new electric vehicle platform and several exiting products that all will be powered by Batteries designed and developed in-house.

Do you enjoy practical work, but also like to be close to the development and make a true difference? Then the role as Test & Analysis Engineer in our Battery HW Testing Team is the place for you to prosper. We are looking for you with a chemical background, electro/mechatronic or Fire Engineer background interested in Abuse and Safety testing. The tests are done on both cell component level as well as in the complete battery systems!

Your Contribution
You will plan, order, prepare and analyse development and verification tests on high-voltage propulsion battery system. The work is done in close collaboration with the team members, Verification Leader, system architects and test engineers in the test rigs.
You will get the opportunity to work in our own state-of-the-art battery lab as well as using suppliers' rigs. Some travelling to external test sites for support and fault tracing will occur.
Competence is Important
We see that you have at least a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Mechatronics, Electrical, or similar as well as a couple of years experience from development within automtive industry. You are comfortable using python or MATLAB to analyse your test result and have the ability to translate the results into theory.
You will also need knowledge in Li-ion technology or relevant area within electric propulsion development. If you in addition have experience from test equipment and/or software development, it is star potential.

You share our passion for future technology and have the ability to manage the complexity in systems. You are a team player with great communication skills that enable you to collaborate with different teams so that you can make your own decisions and draw groundbreaking technical conclusions!
