The Institute of Clinical Sciences, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sahlgrenska Academy is looking for a researcher for research in perinatal medicine. The research is conducted at the experimental laboratory of the Perinatal Center localized at the Department of Physiology. The research goal is to perform experimental studies and increase the understanding of pathophysiological mechanisms in perinatal brain injury and thereby develop novel strategies for cerebroprotection. We are recruiting a talented and dedicated researcher, who has a genuine interest in Neuroscience and Physiology.
Job assignments
The researcher will join the research group at the Perinatal Center. We have a close collaboration with research groups in London and Paris. The researcher should have a genuin interest in immunological mechanisms in perinatal brain injury. He/she will perform experiments both in vitro and in vivo. The research tasks include also histologic preparation, immuno-histochemical work, western blot technique and FACS analysis.
Qualifications
An achieved doctoral degree is compulsory for a position as researcher at University of Gothenburg. The doctoral thesis shall be in a relevant area according to the specific position stated here. Laboratory knowledge and proven skills in experimental work on small animals are required. The researcher should be able to work independently as well as in a group. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required. Experience in immuno-histochemistry, FACS technique and in animal models of perinatal brain injury are important merits.
Employment
The employment is limited (temporary) for 12 months, full time and is placed at The Institute of Clinical Sciences. Starting date; 2018-02-01 or as agreed.
