The successful applicant will lead and in an independent way develop a project aimed at characterizing the molecular mechanisms of DNA replication with a focus on the physiological role of ribonucleotide incorporation into DNA. Responsibilities include PhD and postdoc supervision, teaching and administrative tasks.
The work will include studies of DNA replication in several different model systems, including E. coli, S. cerevisiae, D. melanogaster, mouse and human cells, as well as patient tissue to describe mechanisms that initiate, elongate and terminate DNA replication. Furthermore, the position aims to investigate how ribonucleotide incorporation into DNA contribute to genome maintenance.
