hela Sverige The ecosystem ecology group at the Man Technology Environment Research Centre (MTM), School of Science and Technology at Örebro University is looking for a motivated researcher for a two year position
The person will have access to Örebro stable isotope laboratory which have excellent facilities for analyses of stable isotopes in organic materials, gases and specific compounds. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in ongoing research on carbon and nitrogen cycling in terrestrial ecosystems as well as conduct independent field and lab-oriented research involving the analysis of stable isotopes of one or several of the elements carbon, nitrogen, hydrogen, oxygen and sulphur to address ecological issues.
Duties and responsibilities
Except research responsibilities also some teaching such as supervision of degree projects, lectures and laboratory workshops may be included in the duties.
Eligibility
The applicant should have a PhD in biology or in related areas.
Assessment criteria
Documented knowledge and experience from research on plants or soils in terrestrial ecosystems is a requirement. Documented experience of the application of stable isotopes in ecosystem research, research on mycorrhiza, IRMS analyses, theoretical or empirical modelling using R or other software and molecular methods are all considered as merits in the evaluation. The successful candidate should be creative and analytically oriented with a solid theoretical background. Proficiency in written and spoken English is a requirement. General assessment criteria include good interpersonal skills and an ability to cooperate, as well as the ability and suitability otherwise required to perform the duties well.

The position is a full-time position for a fixed term of two years. The salary depends on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience.
