Research Engineer in Molecular Medicine
Umeå Centre for Molecular Medicine, UCMM, is a centre within the Medical Faculty, Umeå University, with a strong focus on understanding molecular mechanisms of disease. The centre integrates molecular, cellular and developmental biology with transgenic approaches and functional genomics. For more information;
www.umu.se/ucmm.Diabetes is a today a growing disease that imposes a major burden on our society. Our research aims at providing a better understanding of the mechanisms behind pancreas development and pancreatic diseases, in particular diabetes. In this enterprise we combine genetic models for development and disease of the pancreas with the use of new imaging technology (optical projection tomography, OPT) that allows studies of the pancreatic constitution with unprecedented resolution. Our research also aims at improving this technology for the specific use of pancreas imaging.
