Our strength is a combination of breadth and a high level of expertise and capabilities within our field.
Would you like to work with research and development in a world-leading company within a new and exciting field? Sandvik is now strengthening our organization in the growing and strategically important field of advanced materials, focused on cubic boron nitride, diamond and ceramics, and we are currently looking for new research engineers for Sandvik Tooling R&D in Stockholm.
Key performance areas
We are presently conducting research into producing novel, high-tech products using new high performing processes and equipment. This area offers a high growth potential and is strategically important for Sandvik. The group for advanced materials is partly organized within the department of innovations.
As a research engineer with the advanced materials group, you will be part of the development of materials and processes used in future products for metal cutting based on super hard materials such as cubic boron nitride, diamond and ceramics. The work is to a large extent practical, conducted in a modern laboratory environment, including powder manufacturing, pressing and sintering, as well as analysis of the results.
Your profile
You have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Material Science, Material Physics, Chemistry or a similar area. You are computer literate and have good knowledge of our corporate language, English, both spoken and written. Previous experience of lab work is advantageous, as is previous work with super hard materials.
You have a strong interest in, and a good understanding of, material science and physics, and are inspired by working in an international environment. You are driven and result-oriented, taking the initiative to run with good ideas by working in collaboration with others in both industry and academia and using your ability to communicate and motivate.
