RISE Division ICT is looking for a Research Engineer

Location: Kista

We are looking for a bright engineer with background in electrical engineering and embedded systems. The main task will be to participate in the design of and implement a 5G Cloud-RAN for the Internet of Things.

This means implementing a radio access system where the protocol stack (including modulation/demodulation) is virtualized, and offloaded to a cloud or edge. The physical interface is implemented as a Software-Defined Radio (SDR), connected via Ethernet to the virtual communication stack. Raw I/Q samples will be exchanged directly between the SDR and virtualized stack. The main radio access technology will be IEEE 802.15.4, but we may also explore support for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and NB-IoT.

The position is funded by the EU-funded H2020 5G-CORAL project.

A successful candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

* MSc in EE/CS/Embedded Systems
* Experience with the SDR platform LimeSDR
* Development experience with GNU Radio (incl. C++)
* Development experience with VHDL
* Development experience with Linux kernel modules
* Good knowledge of the IEEE 802.15.4 physical layer
* Fluency in English

The position is full time and located in Kista, Sweden. The employment is temporary until the 31st of August 2019 with start as soon as possible.
