The channel reaches more than 100 million households worldwide and is available in more than 60 countries. In the US, which was the launch market, people have been able to watch Disney Channel for more than 20 years, and the first European version of the channel launched in the UK 1995. The Disney Channels Scandinavia launched in 2003 and consists of Disney Channel, Toon Disney and Playhouse Disney. The network broadcast one visual feed to the Nordics, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, with separate audio feeds in each of the Nordic languages.
RESEARCH ANALYST- DISNEY CHANNEL
Disney Channel is looking for a Research Analyst that will provide consumer insights for all areas of the business by analysing and interpreting market research and performance data. You will represent the voice and habits of Disney Channels viewers and subscribers in the Scandinavian countries and you will work closely with the marketing, programming & finance/business departments to provide information to maximise success and provide an edge over competitors.
The position will be based in Stockholm and reports to the Scandinavian Research Manager.
Areas of responsibility:
You will be responsible for the provision of Danish, Norwegian and Swedish ratings reports: weekly report, competitor schedule analysis, viewing through day, top shows and films, TVR monthly tables. You will also provide pan-euro reporting: monthly reports, quarterly reports and launch date information.
Through fully utilising all types of market intelligence including competitor information, trade press, and published reports you gather and develop our knowledge of the satellite and cable TV markets. You will be a point of contact for ad-hoc enquires from planning and marketing on a weekly basis, and assist any other research staff in the provision of Danish, Norwegian and Swedish viewing analysis.
You will need:
• Proven experience as Research Analyst, including quantitative research, ideally within the Scandinavian market and within a children’s area
• Graduate with a relevant degree (e.g. business, statistics, maths, marketing), and with a statistical element (or equivalent work experience)
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Excellent organisational, written and presentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Office application Excel and PowerPoint
• Some knowledge of current media/TV/ on-line performance data software is an advantage
• Fluent, both written and spoken, in at least one Scandinavian languages and English
