About the team
Qlik has an exciting and diverse set of products with flexible deployment models; mature and stable products, young bleeding edge products with a big portion of innovation, big and complex, small but powerful, Mobile apps, Cloud and OnPremise etc. It's an exciting, dynamic environment and we are looking for a person to join the Test & Release Coordination team, to lead a virtual team of Release Managers and support with hands on operational release work.
Qlik continuously improves the user experience with a micro service architecture, comprised of services developed in different R&D sites and time zones. You would work with services and development teams located around the globe.
Our planning and development process is built to be agile, based SAFe.
In this role you will be responsible for building AMIs for 3 different products, execute tests and initiate distribution to GCP and AWS Marketplace. You will monitor and act on feedback from Google and Amazon and also work in close collaboration with Product Managers and distributors to make sure releases are done accordingly. You will be self-organizing with a responsibility to improve build scripts and processes for a lean and stable process.
The Test & Release Coordination team is a team with a high level of trust and teamwork for result mentality, which will give you the room to self-organize and collaborate with peers instead of being micro-managed. Responsibilities include:
Create/maintain scripts for building AMIs for 3 of our products
Execute manual tests to verify AMI
Act on potential AMI issues
Documentation - on top of other regular guidance
Drive for fixes for product issues
Initiate distribution by notifying responsible team
Monitor feedback from Google and Amazon and act on issues
Improving build scripts, tests and process to make sure we release according to schedule and with quality
Communicate effectively with all release stakeholders, both within and outside of R&D. Be prepared to escalate issues and risk when appropriate.
Document the process and ways of working.
Experience & Qualifications include:
Knowledge of working with Google marketplace.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Leadership/coordination over sites/time zones (video, Slack, email) and with different types of stakeholders (Development Team, Product Management, Directors etc.).
Hands on experience with one or several of the following tools and technologies: Qlik Sense, Jira, Jenkins.
Windows Server systems administration experience.
Functional knowledge of basic services such as EC2, S3, VPC, etc.
AWS API experience.
Basic data base knowledge.
Leading projects such as process improvements and onboarding new tooling, especially in a continuous deployment/release context.
Hands on experience of leading with data.
Knowledge of working with AWS marketplace.
Know how to create build scripts for AMIs.
Experience with following; AWS-CLI, AWS Cloudformation, Powershell (Windows).
Experience delivering code or configuration in GitHub or other code repositories.
Coordination and planning skills.
