About the team
Qlik has an exciting and diverse set of products with flexible deployment models; mature and stable products, young bleeding-edge products with a big portion of innovation, big and complex, small but powerful, Mobile apps, Cloud and OnPremise etc. It's an exciting, dynamic environment and we are looking for a person to join the Test & Release Coordination team, to lead a virtual team of Release Managers and support with hands-on operational release work.
Qlik continuously improves the user experience with a microservice architecture, comprised of services developed in different R&D sites and time zones. You would work with services and development teams located around the globe.
Our planning and development process is built to be agile, based on SAFe.
Release Manager
In this role you will act as a spider in a web with plenty of growth opportunities in the areas of reliable release strategies and bleeding-edge technology and tooling. You will be Qlik's subject matter expert for release processes and you will also have huge possibilities to impact our releases to make sure they are of good quality. The Test & Release Coordination team is a team with a high level of trust and teamwork for result mentality, which will give you the room to self-organize and collaborate with peers instead of being micro-managed. As our new colleague, you would join a proud and high-functioning team where collaboration and caring for each other is core.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks
Lead and facilitate a virtual team of Release Managers in development teams to ensure products are released with quality and according to process.
Onboarding Release Managers and other Qlik employees to our release strategies and policies.
Secure release readiness of artifacts, in tight collaboration with the development team and Test Coordinator/Test Lead
Support with release builds, release tagging, release notes, facilitate release decision meetings, distribution of release artifacts (for example releasing to App Store or Google Play), bug triage, data analysis etc.
Support with hands-on operational release management to our SaaS offerings.
Communicate effectively with all release stakeholders, both within and outside of R&D. Be prepared to escalate issues and risks when appropriate.
Drive and own the release process and overall ways of working for all releases within Qlik. Conduct frequent retrospects and drive continuous improvements.
Document the process and ways of working.
Competencies and skills:
The skills and qualifications required for this role:
• 8 years of experience in software development, preferably in different phases (e.g. planning, development, testing, release)
Experience & Qualifications
Desired experience with a successful track record in one or more of the following areas:
Effective leadership with excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Leadership/coordination over sites/time zones (video, Slack, email) and with different types of stakeholders (Development Team, Product Management, Directors, etc.).
Leadership/coordination cross functions such as different development teams, quality engineering teams and other functions/departments.
Experience delivering code or configuration in GitHub or other code repositories.
Hands on experience with one or several of the following tools and technologies: GitHub, Qlik Sense, Jira, App Store Connect, Google Play Console, LaunchDarkly, Jenkins.
Experience of OnPremise release management and/or SaaS Launch Coordination with continuous delivery and release.
Leading projects such as process improvements and onboarding new tooling, especially in a continuous deployment/release context.
Hands on experience of leading with data
Education
Relevant education on university level is not required but will be beneficial.
