AkzoNobel Functional Chemicals consists of a number of different businesses that produces a variety of chemical intermediates, performance chemicals and end-use consumer products on a global scale. Performance Additives, one of seven sBU's within Functional Chemicals, has a unique technology base and profound experience in the production of high quality cellulose derivatives, specialty polymers and additives. Our knowledge is applied in industries such as building and construction, paint, food and healthcare. We have a globally operating RD&I department with locations in Sempach (CH), Arnhem (NL) and Stenungsund (S). In the RD&I Cellulosics Team in Stenungsund we take care of product development and technical support with a strong focus on Paint. We work in highly engaged international teams with a strong focus on our customers.

Dina arbetsuppgifter
We are searching for a RD&I Project Leader within the RD&I Cellulosics Team, based in Stenungsund, Sweden. In this position you will report to the RD&I Manager. In the role as RD&I Project leader you will have the following responsibilities: - Lead and or participates in projects with a strong focus on paint applications - Actively participate in technical support to our customers in cooperation with our sales team - Undertake literature reviews, planning and running designed experiments, collecting and analysing data, and recording work in research reports - Act as technical representative during customer visits, exhibitions and seminars - Function as expert in field of surface chemistry and rheology - Prepare and hold technical presentations at various occasions, inside and outside the company - Participate in joint development projects with customers or universitie - Monitor literature and patents in the fields of the projects and actively looks for patent possibilities - Build up know how on the properties of cellulose ether in relation to paint properties.

Utbildning och erfarenhet
To be successful in this position you hold PhD or M.Sc. in surface chemistry and/or in rheology and have previous working experience within surface chemistry or in the field of coatings. Further requirements we are looking for: - Proactive attitude, independent and result driven - Strong customer focus - Able to manage big development projects and the capability to lead multidisciplinary and international teams - Good sense for strategic and commercial business aspects - Hands on and willing to work in the lab - Team player with communication and interpersonal skills - Drive for sustainable solutions - Fluent in English, both written and spoken We also expect that you will actively contribute to the safety and order of the lab, and have a strong focus on the Health, Safety and Environment questions.
