The arena
A Research Scientist position is available with focus on respiratory cell biology. In the R&I iMED Bioscience organization you will be part of a team contributing to finding new therapies for inflammatory diseases, primarily for COPD and Asthma. The role
You will take part in discovery programs aimed at developing novel drug candidates. The work is performed within teams, in close in collaboration with scientists from other disciplines. You will contribute to design and development of relevant cellular systems to support project progression. You are lab-based and will deliver data to a high standard of quality including monitoring the performance of test systems over time. You will keep up to date with new technical developments and improvements and drive implementation of these independently. The role also include responsibility of documenting experimental results and conclusions to a high standard, in accordance with internal and external guidelines.
Required experience
We are looking for an motivated cell biologist with a MSc, BSc degree or equivalent background. The successful candidate is a strong cell biologist with a good knowledge of respiratory/inflammation disease areas. Experience in isolating and working with both airway primary cell systems as well as human and animal cell lines is required. Previous experience of compound testing is essential, preferably in pharmaceutical industry. Ability to apply basic understanding of pharmacology, biochemistry, molecular biology or immunology to support project progression is highly meriting. Teamwork is crucial and the candidate should have a high degree of flexibility and collaborative skills. In addition, scientific drive, good communication skills and delivery focus is required.
