Your responsibilities
Lead and develop the Valve R&D team consisting of mechanical and electrical engineers, by developing the individuals and to foster a strong and collaborative team culture
Live Hitachi Energy's Leadership Pillars as a leader which means live our vision, work together, deliver promises and develop people
Own and develop the R&D processes for mechanical and electrical valve design and support further digitalization of the development tool chain
Be an active part of the R&D core management team to ensure successful execution of HVDCs global strategy
Manage department operations and ensure team deliverables meet expectations on quality and technical performance set by the business
Propose research projects and technical pre-studies to further drive innovation in the field of HVDC converters, converter cells, and the related passive and active components
Engage regularly with key stakeholders and ensure good alignment and collaboration with interfacing teams around the globe
Promote priorities and resource planning for development work to be in line with the business strategy

Your background
You are a flexible leader with good communication skills and a high focus on quality, structure and the wellbeing of your team members
Genuine interest in coaching and developing your team in combination with fostering strong collaboration with peers and interfacing functions, both locally and globally
Proven experience in people management as direct supervisor, project manager or other management activity
Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with technical experience in the power industry
Solid understanding of development work within R&D organizations and the curiosity to learn and improve in the area
Electromechanical design experience from electric power industry, design of high voltage products, or power electronics is valuable
As you will be part of a global business, fluency in English is required, written and spoken alike. Proficiency in Swedish is a plus.
