Testing, Verification and Materials Technology (VT&MT) is responsible for the operation, maintenance and development of engine test and materials technology laboratories. We work both local and global to deliver high quality results and expert functions within our areas of responsibility. We co-operate close with product owners, technology owners, certification and compliance as well as other functions. We have test facilities and laboratories where a mix of theory and practical work is necessary in order to deliver and develop within present and new technologies. VT&MT is a part of Powertrain Engineering, Group Trucks Technology (GTT) located in Gothenburg.
This is what you will do
The mission of this role is to drive and implement improvements connected to quality, safety and environment in our way of working and for our test facilities. You will be a key person to support and coach VT&MTs managers and employees to set the direction and drive change connected to these areas. To be successful in this role you need to enjoy working cross-functionally, communicate well and take initiatives when something needs to be done.
Main responsibilities in the role is to develop and secure that our way of working and our processes are systematic and in line with quality assurance, safety regulations and environmental legislation. Technical development and external demands change constantly and we need to adapt accordingly. Another task is to coordinate and support the implementation of efficiency and safety measures, by for example introducing lean, 5S or agile elements and safety guidelines in the daily work. You will also set, drive and follow-up local strategies and measures (KPI) as well as identify and share best practice within and without the own organization.
The role includes cooperation close to site central health and safety managers as well as other local and global test facilities within GTT. You will be an important asset and contributor to set strategies and reach our goals together with your colleagues in the management team reporting directly to the Director of Verification, Testing & Materials Technology.

Other qualifications are:
We expect you to have a B.Sc. or M.Sc. Engineer degree related to change management, working environment, safety and industry or similar relevant proven technical experience from earlier positions
Experience from working with implementation and continuous improvement within the field of quality, safety and/or environment from industry or a production site is a requirement
Knowledge in proactive safety work for example CE marking and risk assessments is a requirement
Knowledge in and working experience from environmental legislation, working environmental law and ISO certification is an advantage
Knowledge in and working experience from electrical safety is a great advantage
Experience from agile work and implementation is a merit
You also have to be fluent in English, both written and spoken
