The Americas & Europe Solution Team is part of Global Technology Solutions, delivering technology solutions to customers around the world. Our team is one of three Genium INET Development teams and is responsible for servicing NASDAQ OMX Market Technology customers both internally and externally in both Europe and Americas.
As a QA Test Engineer you will be integrally involved in meeting our challenge to develop robust high quality software, with ever increasing performance requirements and simultaneously contribute to improve agility and time to market in a changing business and regulatory environment.
You will work with highly motivated and skilled colleagues in an international and dynamic environment. This position is a fantastic opportunity to develop your personal, technical and leadership skills, while gaining an extensive knowledge of the exchange industry.
Main tasks as QA Test Engineer
• Understand underlying system architecture and customer business requirements
• Participate in reviews of customer requirements and test specifications written by other testers
• Create test plans, test specifications and test reports
• Create automated testcases in our internal Java based autotest framework (OMexus)
• Execute manual and automated test cases
• Track and maintain defect lists and aid development teams to ensure resolution of reported defects
• Provide customer support
• Work closely with business analysts, developers and testers within the project
• Help ensuring our working processes are effective and efficient
Qualifications required
• Bachelor in computer science, engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of relevant working experience - preferably in the Financial Industry
• Programming skills in Java
• Experience of Test Automation
• Experience of Testing Methodology
• Understand Product Development and Product Issue processes
• Effective communicator as the role will require ability to liaise with development / business teams and occasionally with clients
• Excellent language skills in written and spoken English
• Experience from the financial industry and protocols, e.g. FIX is meriting
• Programming skills in Perl is meriting
• Understanding of financial markets and the index business is a plus
