Take OpenStack's Trove project to the next level. As a Database-as-a-Service Developer, you'll design, implement, and operate scalable, automated database services running on OpenStack. You'll work with Python backend systems, Linux subsystems, and cloud-native architectures to deliver robust, compliant, and user-friendly DBaaS offerings - enabling customers to consume databases as easily as any other cloud resource.

About the team :
You'll join Cloud Services R&D, Cleura's core engineering organization responsible for evolving our OpenStack-based platform and surrounding services. We work in a Spotify-model setup of autonomous Tribes and Squads, each owning a specific area such as IaaS, PaaS, AI & Data, or Integration. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain Trove DBaaS features in OpenStack.
Implement automation for database provisioning, scaling, backups, and recovery.
Collaborate with Cloud Services R&D squads, Platform Ops, and Product Owners to ensure alignment with roadmap items.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.
Contribute upstream to OpenStack Trove, including patches, bug fixes, and documentation.
Assist with troubleshooting and support for production workloads as needed.

Requirements( Must have):
Strong Python development experience (3+ years preferred).
Solid understanding of Linux systems and shell scripting.
Experience with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB or similar).
Experience with Docker
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control (Git).
Familiarity with DBaaS platforms
Willingness to engage in upstream contributions and collaborate with the OpenStack community.
Fluent communication skills in English.


Good to have (Merit skills):
Familiarity with OpenStack Trove is a plus.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and OpenStack services (Nova, Cinder, Neutron).
Experience with Python frameworks or automation tools (Ansible, Flask, Django).
Prior participation in open-source projects or community contributions.


Qualification:
Engineering degree in a related field or equivalent experience and training.
or if any certification is required.
