Volvo Cars Purchasing is ultimately responsible for the selection of all Volvo Cars' suppliers
and has the responsibility for the procurement of all production and non-production material and services to Volvo Cars.
The supply of materials and services- to the right quality, in the right quantity and on time- is essential to the smooth running of the company and to match our customer's expectations.
The Powertrain and Chassis division within Purchasing is responsible for direct material going to Volvo plants, divided in three sections: Complete Engine & Transmission Engine Components & Cooling and Chassis, Stampings & Raw Materials
We are now recruiting a Purchaser to take responsibility for purchasing activities within the Raw materials area.
The section has the responsibility for all commercial activities regarding the sourcing. We work cross functional with Engineering and also with our plants, ensuring that quality, cost and timing requirements critical to our everyday operations is secured and handled in a professional way. We develop the supply base management strategy as well as maintain good supplier relationship.
Job description:
Negotiate and establish agreements
Perform year to year commercial negotiations
Act on design changes within the project
Drive resolution and establish action plans on part-specific supplier issues in running business
Issue purchase order
Participate in cross functional teams with TVM (Team Value Management), engineering, quality and manufacturing
Ensure supplier selections, establishment of agreements, orders and relationships
Give input on pre-requisites for development of future supplier
Drive continuous improvements activities, both within purchasing and at suppliers
Carry out market analysis and benchmarking studies
Qualifications:
Technical and or commercial university degree alt. long relevant experience
Technical knowledge within the resin area is advantageous
Computer skills
Experience in process driven activities
Commercial/negotiation experience
Good communication skills and fluent in English
Ability to work in a structured manner
Positive mindset with a lot of "drive"
