Electronic Defence Systems, a business area of Saab, is one of the world's premier suppliers of solutions for surveillance, avionics and systems to detect, locate and protect against threat.
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified systems and equipment (electronics, mechanics and software) for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world's largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Product Areas Control & Actuation and Mission Avionics are part of the Business Unit Avionics Systems and have its operation in Jönköping and Järfälla. Safety Critical Control Computers, Electro Mechanical Actuators, Mission Computers and Head Up Display Systems are typical products. The products are used for aircraft control, enhanced mission capability and for situational awareness in the domain of Airborne applications.
Din framtida utmaning
Your roleAs a project manager within Avionics Systems your main task will be to manage customer development projects, but also be part of the winning business activities leading to contracts and project initialisation.
You will have full responsibility for the project budget and all related deliveries, and be part of the commercial agreements during the business execution. A challenging task is to secure that the projects are executed according to the strict regulations and rules for airborne applications and additional customer requirements.
The work will, besides the project team, be performed in close collaboration with management and our customers. You will report to the project owner and your line manager.

Your future challengeWe believe you have excellent project manager leadership skills and the ability to build good customer relationships. As a project manager you will demonstrate communicative leadership skills in order to create commitment and energy within the organisation. Your ability to establish a performance driven culture within your project will be of outmost importance.
Customer development projects typically comprise development of computer hardware and software and/or actuation mechanics up to aircraft sub-system level. Prior experience of similar development and certification projects is seen as a merit.

Today's demands
Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented or technical discipline.
Experience of development projects with strict requirements under authorities regulations or similar is important. +5 years of project management experience is required.
Understanding of End Customer and Aircraft Integration level needs is seen as a merit
Strong business understanding and customer focus.
Good ability to listen and communicate with team members, stake holders and customers to manage risks and opportunities in a good proactive way
Understanding and ability to work in an international environment.
Proven ability to take decisions to improve profitability.
Well established skills in performing work breakdowns, planning and defining goals and work packages, often in corporation with supporting staff
Skills to combine strategic thinking with operational actions.
Proven ability and interest in leading, developing and challenging the organization and employees.
Strong drive, perseverance and ability to generate energy.
High Swedish and English language skills required
