Gripen E/F Test & Evaluation (Gr E/F T&E) is the project responsible for all test activities within the flight test program for Gripen E & Gripen F. The project is moving into an intense period with extensive test needs in system rigs and several test aircrafts. Testing will be performed from several test sites including our own new test site; GFTC in Brazil.
Gr E/F T&E includes around a dozen sub projects responsible for system testing of all systems included in the Gripen Weapon System. The project also include developing instrumentation of test aircrafts.
Your main role is to be a part of the project management team, as one of two deputy project managers. The role will handle several tasks, which of project manager of the test activities for Gripen F will be one of the main focus areas. Other responsibilities can be managing the projects work with risks and handling special investigations and focus areas. As deputy manager you will also stand in for the project manager when needed. Assignments, outside of the T&E project, within the Test Management Office can also be possible.
The role as project manager within Flight Test includes responsibility for time, technique and economy for your subproject as well as for the whole project when acting as deputy. You are responsible for overall test plans and deliveries according to these test plans. One of your main assignments is to communicate, share & spread information, into the project, towards sub projects, as well as towards external interfaces, departments and other Gripen E-projects.

The project management trio is working closely together. It is therefore important that you are a person with low prestige and team work skills such as sharing information and stepping in where it is necessary.

Earlier experience of project management is considered to be a great advantage. Other useful areas of earlier experience are Flight Test and/or System development within Gr E/F.
What you will be a part of
Department Flight Test and Verification performs testing in most of the technology areas for Saab's flying systems and handles simulator-, rig-, ground- and flight test.
The department has the responsibility to provide professional testing of aircraft systems and to manage flight operations and aircraft maintenance.
Activities are mainly connected to the development of Gripen, but include all flight operation including market activities.
The department has about 280 employees, which include pilots, aircraft mechanics, test engineers, instrumentation engineers, s/w developers and more.
Your role is a part of the Test Management office. The office includes project managers, test a/c coordinators, flight operations support and quality management.
As a condition of employment, candidates will be required to participate in a background investigation and/or successfully demonstrate eligibility to receive applicable Government security clearance(s).
