Job Description
The Project Manager will be part of the Project Department and will report to the Project Director. The primary responsibilities include:
Under broad direction, this position is responsible for all phases of planning and execution of a medium-sized project to larger project (>40000 engineering hours).
• Plans, organizes, coordinates and controls projects in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems and requirements approved by the company.
• Responsible for the day to day operations of the project including but not limited to supervising personnel assigned to the project through subordinate leaders, project budget, engineering deliverables, schedules, cost control, change management, communication, quality, risk management and administration of a project.
• Responsible for the day to day contact and communication with the client and focuses on providing client satisfaction.
• Execute the project according to the contract. Establish project Execution plan including scope definition, organization, budget, schedule, deliveries, communication plan, quality and risk management.
• Ensure the project deliveries meet the project design basis with required quality and that the final result is delivered within the specified time & cost frame.
• Follow up on the status of the project. Establish and produce project status reports to the client and to the project steering committee.
• Serve as proposal manager of medium-sized project to larger, when required.
• Proactive in seeking new business opportunities in existing projects.
Profile
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies which primarily include:
• Minimum Bsc in Naval Architecture, Civil/Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience including 5 years of Project Management, preferably within the Offshore industry.
• Certification in project management is an advantage, preferably a PMI certificate.
• Experience working with complex contracts and negotiating with suppliers, clients and internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of the fundamentals in engineering projects and the principles of approval by Classification Authorities.
• High level of commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate effectively with all stakeholders.
• Strong leadership skills with the capacity to engage and influence.
• The capability to liaise and communicate effectively with client, project team and with senior management.
• A focus on results, the ability to build proactive and efficient teams and excellent organizing and planning skills.
• Capability of handling stressful situations, excellent decision-making skills, strong integrity and inspire trust.
• Ability to understand and advocate the advantages of diversity and teamwork.
• Communicates in both English and Swedish (orally and written) fluently.
