At Manufacturing Engineering, you are part of a global production team that makes sure that the cars we build meet the highest expectations from our customers. In close collaboration with colleagues in other business units, we develop and implement flexible and efficient production systems with people in focus. The group Stamping Engineering is a part of the Manufacturing Engineering (ME) organisation and has the responsibility to develop, manage and launch all new stamping dies for in-house production within Volvo Car Group factories. We also have the responsible to lead Engineering work in forming feasibility for processes and equipment regarding stamping dies in new car projects. From early project phases until the start of production.

As a Project Leader at Stamping Engineering you are working with challenging projects with a team consisting off approximately 25 persons and you have a number of stakeholders such as Process Engineering, Product Development, Purchasing, Launch and Production. Today we use suppliers from all around the world such as Europe and Asia, Germany, Spain, Korea, China and Japan. You therefore need to have the great communications skills. The duration of a project is around three years and you handle approx. 60-100 die sets depending on the size of the project. The role is challenging and you will develop your project leading skill s and you will get a broad contact net within Volvo Car Group.

Main responsibilities

• Plan, follow up and secure deliveries in the project
• Manage and motivate team members
• Report status to stake holders in the organization

Required qualifications

• You need at least a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) with focus on mechanical engineering or similar
• Documented Experience from managing larger projects 5-10 years in automotive industry
• Good skills in English and Swedish, written and spoken
• M.Sc. within mechanical engineering is meritorious
• Experience from working in the automotive industry i.e. product development, process engineering would be an asset
