OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To engineer solutions and liaise with the customer for Automotive Wire Harnesses
SCOPE OF THE POSITION
To design automotive wire harnesses to the requirements of the customer
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Supervise the design and package of harnesses into the virtual vehicle.
• Will be aware of all customer design requirements e.g. design manual, Electrical & Electronic Distribution System (EEDS) guidelines, NDS.
• Preparing of engineering change proposals.
• Participating in customer and supplier design meetings.
• Issue Management for respective harnesses.
• Participating in Value Add / Value Effectiveness (VA/VE) workshops.
• Project responsibility for the allocated harnesses and sub-components.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical Skills
Preferred
• CAD tool understanding - Cable designer / CATIA V5
• DFSS practical experience / knowledge of
• DFMEA practical experience / knowledge of.
Required
• Electrical harness engineering background
• Cost awareness in design
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Ability to read and use engineering specifications
• Understanding of GPDS and implementing key milestones
Qualifications
Preferred
• Degree or equivalent in electrical / electronic discipline
Required
• HNC/D or equivalent in electrical / electronic discipline
