Inclusive Business Sweden's mission is to enable business to meet global development needs. We engage and support organisations in developing sustainable, innovative and inclusive business models that can reduce poverty and improve living conditions for the poor. Since 2013, we have been working towards our goals by delivering collaborative programmes and direct business services, both locally and globally. IBS serves as a platform for the acceleration of inclusive business initiatives across Sweden as well as globally. We have delivered programmes for and with our clients and partners including Sida, the Asian Development Bank, the European Union, Unilever, IKEA, Vinnova, Tillväxtverket, Nordic Innovation, Research Institutes of Sweden, the Nordic Development Fund, Startup Foundation and the Stockholm Environmental Institute - just to name a few. To date, we have worked to have impact across 14 countries, mainly in sub-Saharan Africa and Southern Asia, and enabled approximately 100 businesses through our programmes. We are Swedish-based with a global outlook - we think global, act global. Even our core team is global, with representatives from Sweden, Kenya, Mexico, Spain and Australia. At Inclusive Business Sweden, we are making it our business to end poverty.
As Programme Director for Inclusive Business Sweden, you will take a leadership role in the management and delivery of impact-focused programmes focused on supporting businesses to develop scalable and impactful business models towards developing markets. More specifically the role will involve:
• Programme management for and delivery of an ongoing EU-funded project to support West Swedish SMEs to develop inclusive business models with developing markets
• Event management for our Inclusive Business Forum and other events
• Establishment and management of an accelerator programme
• Workshop facilitation, business coaching and advisory
• Budget development, management and reporting * Programme reporting and evaluation
• Business development for new programmes and clients
• Consulting services to clients
• External communications through multiple channels
* Playing a leadership role in the ongoing development of Inclusive Business Sweden and its services
We are looking for a passionate and experienced person with at least 10 years of experience in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, international trade, development, project management and/or sustainability. The candidate should be:
• An individual passionate about sustainability and with a drive in working towards the Sustainable Development Goals
• Proven programme/project management skills
• Masters degree or equivalent in a relevant field (business, global studies, etc)
• Experience in working with developing markets (Africa, Asia or Latin America)
• Consulting skills - an ability to run workshops, advise clients, etc
• Fluent in English and Swedish
The following qualities are also highly desirable:
• Experience in planning, promoting and running large events
• Experience in working as an entrepreneur or with entrepreneurs
• Strong financial skills - able to develop and manage budgets, and good financial literacy
• Strong written communication skills - experience with making project applications, analyses and/or reports desirable
• Track record of securing new business
• Strong business / professional network in Sweden
• Online communication skills
• Willing and able to travel
