Work assignments
We seek a professor in Environmental Change with focus on Environmental Analytical Chemistry. The position involves laboratory-based experimental work and field studies, including development of the department's environmental research laboratory. The professor is expected to conduct interdisciplinary research, develop analytical methods aligned with the division's strategic needs, and collaborate across research areas. Responsibilities include teaching and supervising students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, course design, and coordination. The role also entails contributing to the university's development, engaging with societal actors, and participating in administrative and leadership duties. Active involvement in the academic community and maintaining awareness of developments in the field are essential. Flexibility, collegiality, and a strong presence in the work environment are expected.

Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who has demonstrated both scientific and pedagogical expertise.

For this employment particular attention is paid to scientific expertise, second to pedagogical expertise, and third to other proficiencies which are judged to be equivalent to each other.

In terms of scientific expertise, the following will be assessed:

• Documented skill in quantitative laboratory-based analyses of environmental variables relevant to the department's activities (including the entire measurement chain from sample collection to data analysis) is a requirement.
• Documented skill in leading and developing research concerning various types of environmental chemical analyses and underlying questions that span multiple research areas is a requirement.
• Documented skill in obtaining external research fundings in competition as the lead applicant is a requirement.
• Documented skill in developing new environmental chemical analysis capabilities (including the entire measurement chain from sample collection to data analysis) is particularly
• Documented skill in research collaboration with researchers from other fields is particularly meritorious.
• Documented success in initiating and implementing innovative research beyond the established or traditional perceptions within relevant research areas is particularly meritorious.

In terms of pedagogical expertise, the following will be assessed:

• Documented skill in supervision of at least one PhD student as main supervisor at all stages from admission as a PhD student to final defence of the PhD thesis is a requirement.
• Documented pedagogical expertise within undergraduate teaching in topics of relevance to the position, including course responsibilities, is particularly meritorious.

Other proficiencies that will be assessed for this position are:

• Documented skill to develop synergies and collaboration within academia or with the society beyond academia is particularly meritorious.
• Documented expertise in developing laboratory infrastructures or their analytical capacity is particularly meritorious.
• Documented administrative skill and leadership in taking responsibility for the work environment and personnel, as well as for creating and maintaining a diverse, inclusive, and constructive workplace are particularly meritorious.

The ability to teach and conduct research in English is a requirement. It is desirable that you within two years can teach and conduct research in Swedish.
