Underground Rock Excavation is a division within Atlas Copco's Mining and Rock Excavation Technique business area. It develops, manufactures, and markets a wide range of tunneling and mining equipment for various underground applications worldwide. Atlas Copco's strong focus on innovative product design and aftermarket support systems gives added customer value. The divisional headquarters and main production center is in Örebro, Sweden.
Job description
The Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation division offers a comprehensive portfolio of products for underground mining and a key element of that offering is our Utility Vehicle product range. The company has recently taken major steps to strengthen our focus on Utility Vehicles and we are looking for an eager individual who is keen to help us continue to make good progress in developing the Utility Vehicle portfolio as well as growing our market share. As Product Manager Utility Vehicles, you will be a member of the Underground Infrastructure marketing team, which looks after an extensive and interesting product portfolio.
As Product Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
• Establish and maintain product strategies within your range of products.
• Produce and maintain marketing material such as sales literature and sales arguments.
• Support and train Regional Business Managers and Customer Center personnel to improve product knowledge, application knowledge, sales arguments and competitor information.
• Develop and maintain Machine Order templates and a pricing structure (IP) related to product performance and benefits through the applications.
• Be responsible for product cost analysis and development.
• Collect and interpret information on customers' present and future needs, and translate this information into Market Demand Specifications for new product development projects.
• Be active as a member of new product development project-teams.
• Be prepared to assume project leadership for pre-studies and minor projects.
• Contribute to achieve the consolidated sales and profitability targets.
You must be prepared to travel some 50 - 75 days per year.
Experience requirements
Previous product management, technical or engineering experience with underground mobile mining equipment, preferably associated with Utility Vehicles. An extra plus would be previous experience in working closely with underground construction and mining industry customers or customer centers. You should have excellent command of English
Personality requirements
You should be a results-oriented, self-motivated and independent individual. You should also be creative / enterprising with very good communication and motivational skills. To be successful in this role, you must achieve results through good cooperation with others - primarily within the departments of the Örebro product company and with Customer Centers. A structured way of working is vital.
