Scania Engines is a business area within Scania responsible for sales and development of industrial and marine engines. The Engine business is doing very well with a new all time high for 2014 and we are definitely on track towards the ambitious 2020 target!
Scania Engines is now creating a new sales structure, including for the first time a Product Management function. This Product Management function will be divided into the three main segments: Industrial, Power generation and Marine. We are now looking for three Product Managers, one for each segment.
Your role
As a Product Manager you are responsible for creating a strategy to reach the 2020 sales target for your segment, and to implement it through business development, sales, marketing and product development. This means that you will work in close contact with Key Account Managers, Area Managers, Business Units, Product Planning and many other parts of the Engines organisation.
You will work with the product portfolio, business cases and strategies as well as marketing and communication. It is a strategic, commercial role which requires very good customer understanding, which you will get through contacts with OEM customers and business units. The work environment is both international and internal and the job requires travelling around the globe, approx 30 days per year.
You will report to Anders Liss, Vice President Sales, Scania Engines.
Your profile
To be successful in the position as a Product Manager, you should have at least 2-6 years experience from technical related businesses. You have a university degree with a technical focus or equivalent experience as well as being a person with genuine technical interest in combination with high level of commercial understanding.
For this job, it is important to have strong communication and presentation skills. Analytic and self driven with broad understanding of international business is also needed as you will be responsible for your segment's development.
You speak and write English fluently at a professional business level. Additional language skills and experiences from working with different cultures are considered as merit.
