Vehicle Service Market is the Automotive Aftermarket Business
Unit within the SKF Automotive Division. VSM is a global operating unit responsible for developing, sourcing, assembling, promoting and selling a wide and continuously increasing range of car & truck repair kits for chassis, transmission, engine and suspension applications. We service the independent aftermarket with products, services and concepts for cars and commercial
vehicles. Our customers range around the world goes from distributors, major International Trading Groups, to retailers and garages. VSM has enjoyed a strong development during the last 10 years. In order to reinforce our service to Customers, we
want to further develop our technical support and we are now looking for a:
Product Engineer - Commercial Vehicle Products
The holder of this position will be a part of the Product Management Business Development Team (PMBD) of around 10 people for the automotive aftermarket and report to the Product Manager Wheel end and heavy duty. The main focus will be to
developing the product range offer for VSM according to our defined development process and allocated vehicle brands. The position will be based in Gothenburg Vehicle Parts, Sweden.
Key responsibilities:
• Maintain current range of CV products including specific truck-brand responsibility and develop new kits for existing range
• Support sales, marketing and customers with technical information
• Inform market about new range extension
• Support to develop technical marketing material in cooperation with Marcom
• Support in Catalogue development, including e-catalogues
• Support in developing current working processes
• Competitor analysis
• Look for new product possibilities
Knowledge and experience required:
• Mechanical engineering background preferred (BSc or MSc degree, or good experience of mechanical science)
• About 5 years of experience, preferably from working with the aftermarket but OEM is also considered relevant
• Basic Bearing manufacturing knowledge
• Good knowledge in mechanical tools (drawing understanding and evaluation, CAD)
• Good Experience of the Truck and trailer market - preferably aftermarket (OEM knowledge also good)
• Excellent PC-experience: should have very good knowledge on office-program (excel, power-point, access) and be able to quickly learn new systems
• Language: Swedish and English: fluently. Also good with moderate knowledge in German, French or Italian
• Experience of working with international contacts is a plus but not a necessity skill.
