We are a team of engaged and driven project leaders that take pride in our jobs. We belong to the Product Builds department within Complete Vehicle Sweden, where we build tomorrows trucks today and deliver prototypes that are ready for testing, verification, and validation.
The Product Build Project Leaders (PBPL) leads the cross functional build activities from order to delivery of physical test objects (trucks and rigs). We work throughout all phases of a project, from early concept phase up until handover to maintenance phase. To secure our delivery, we collaborate and network with multiple teams within the Volvo Group Trucks divisions ranging from Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, and Marketing to Prototype Workshops and Factory Operations.

Who are you?

You have a degree (BSc or MSc) in Engineering, Supply Chain or other relevant area together with several years of work experience from the manufacturing industry related to engineering, production, or project management. We see that you have documented experience from working cross-functionally and background from automotive product development as well as knowledge about truck application and customer usage is a strong merit.
Additionally, you are a self-motivated doer who works in a structured way, enjoying working with people as much as with technology. You communicate effectively and clearly in English, and you are passionate about solving problems and engaging in cross-functional collaboration. You dare to make decisions and can handle situations with conflicting interests. You have the ability to see opportunities where others see obstacles. You embrace change and aspire to play a key role in the transformation towards the future of sustainable transportation.

What you will do in a nutshell:

• Create, anchor and follow-up build time plans for the physical test objects.
• Estimate and control budget for Product Build resources and material related to build of physical test objects.
• Secure - based on engineering input - a correct Bill of Material (BoM) for all test objects.
• Initiate part procurement based on engineering input such as Modification Request (MR), Bill of Material (BoM), Campaign Request, etc.
• Anchor build time plan and part delivery needs with Prototype Purchasing and Logistics.
• Lead and monitor build at plant or workshop until test object sign-off.
• Be chairman for meetings linked to physical test object builds.
• Give notice/alert with proposed actions if a build delivery cannot be met.

Your responsibilities will also include:
• Representing Product Builds in various forums across the Volvo Group.
• Regularly report material status, build progress, etc. to project and/or customer.
• Manage the internal Product Build network and deliver according to milestones in the project build process.
• Ensure Bill of Material (BoM) and vehicle specification updates are documented in our systems (ProTOM etc.)
• Continuously update process and improve way-of-working and document the same.
