Advanced Engineering & Studies is organized within Vehicle Engineering at Volvo Group Trucks Technology.
We are responsible for preparing future trucks and transport solutions for all brands and markets by managing and driving Advanced Engineering at Vehicle Engineering & Vehicle Technology.
We are open-minded and performance-oriented and honor to deliver tangible results.
You will in this position work together with senior product architects and report to the Advanced Vehicle Engineering Portfolio Owner.
The role - what do we offer?
As Product Architect - Advanced Vehicle Engineering you will be responsible to drive selected strategic complete vehicle development and/or system development from analysis and scoping to handover to market implementation.
When needed you will together with your project team visualize concepts and ideas using CAD.
You will be responsible for your own budget and will be an important part of preparing future competitive, high volume production vehicles. These vehicles will ensure future legislation fulfilment, Unique Selling Points, Vehicle Lifetime Productivity, features, transport efficiency, logistic systems, infrastructure, intermodal logistics systems, services, connectivity, software, HMI etc.

We think you are an organized person who like to plan things carefully over time and you love to keep things tidy in order to work effectively. As well as having the ability to analyze and to aggregate complex tasks you also possess very good communication skills and you are comfortable in making clear recommendations in complex matters. You also have an entrepreneurial and creative side which gives you the ability to handle uncertainties and ambiguity in a fine manner. This shines through as you continuously prove your "can-do attitude" both in good and bad times.

• You lead investigations, studies and projects and take responsibility for the deliveries
• You have extensive truck product knowledge
• You prepare and participate in activities for analysis on system and complete vehicle level
• You persist in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks
It is a bonus if you also have...
Broad customer knowledge for different transport applications, knowledge of trends, legislations & society expectations regarding logistics. Experience from Project Management: Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Risk management and planning. Skills within financial planning and follow up. Score & Business Warehouse knowledge. Already got a network within AB Volvo? That's also a plus!
Required knowledge/experience
• Master of Science in Engineering or equivalent product development experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience of the heavy trucks industry.
