We are now looking to recruit the right person to lead our development efforts regarding our new and future electrical architectures. We are recruiting a system owner for our core Electrical system. This area is where we develop adaptions to Volvo truck components and functionality, as well as solutions to fulfil functionality unique to Volvo Buses.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The main area of responsibility would be to have technical leadership with long term focus for our core electrical system. This includes the main vehicle and body control units. You will support the function development in this area with expertise, investigations and guidance trough long-term strategies and roadmap work. You will also cooperate a lot with other system owners and architects in Volvo Buses in these areas, as well as our colleagues in GTT, to prepare for future electrical and software architectures. You will propose and initiate Advanced Engineering initiatives and concept investigations in this area, together with system owners from the other product areas in the department.
The area covers a number of core chassis control units that are used for bus unique functionality. Some of these are developed by other parts of Volvo group according to our requirements, and some are developed in our team.
You will work closely to two teams that are handling the development in this area, cooperating and assisting with technical leadership in these teams are also important part of the work. Building a good social network with colleagues in other areas of Volvo bus as well as GTT is a critical success factor for this role.
Since we are a smaller company, we all work with broad responsibilities and cross-functionally through the entire company, across many different departments, cultures, and competence areas. This position will be no different, coordinating yours and your teams work with the rest of the development teams here at buses will be important.

Our department, Electrical and Software Architecture is a function within Global Bus Technology (GBT) at Volvo Buses which is responsible to integrate Volvo group technology into our buses and develop bus unique solutions when needed. We are responsible to secure short and long term quality solutions on the electrical and software systems of the bus. In close cooperation with colleagues at different departments, we are supporting each other in reaching our mission in helping millions of travellers reaching their travel destination. THIS PROBABLY DEFINES YOU
We believe you have several years of experience from Volvo Group electrical architecture work, both with the "bridgeplan" and TEA2+ architectures. You have a good understanding of automotive electrical and software architecture work and experience from different parts of the development process.
Experience in leading and participating in teams and development networks, coordinating work across different competences to ensure the end delivery is the best compromise is also valued. We think that you have a MSc degree in mechatronics/electrical/software engineering or equivalent, are great at communication and networking, solution focused and eager to learn and work with your own development. You are fluent in English, spoken and written.
