The purpose of this role is to independently perform stability analysis and stability model design of semi-submersibles offshore platforms, FPSO?s (Floating Production and Oil Storage) and other floating and fixed offshore structures.
Responsibilities and Task:
Plan, lead and carry out stability model design according to Authority and Classification rules to ensure project deliverables are on time and at a high standard.
Plan, lead and perform stability calculations and produce associated documentation as required.
Plan, lead and perform stability analysis in including Intact and Damage stability calculations that fulfills regulatory and classification society demands and be responsible for the documentation of performed work by checking and approving analysis reports.
Plan, lead and produce Freeboard Plan Drawings and Index Tables.
Plan, lead and perform wind and wave model tests.
Plan, lead and carry out stability calculations related to Integration and Installation of offshore assemblies.
Participate in R&D projects and provide guidance within the field of Stability Analysis and provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.
Qualifications and Experience:
M.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture (preferable) Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
10 + years proven experience within the stability analysis field, preferably gained in offshore industry.
Well developed knowledge in the area of stability model design and floating offshore structures, practical experience is required.
Well developed knowledge in the area of Load Conditions, practical experience is required.
Well developed knowledge about ship and offshore rules concerning the DNV, ABS, NMD and USCG classification societies, practical experience is required.
Proven track record of Autoship software or similar.
Knowledge of welding and joining technologies of heavy steel work design is an advantage.
Experience from working at a shipyard or a construction site is an advantage.
Previous experience from working in a supervisor or team leader role.
Fluent and effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. Swedish and additional language skills are an advantage
