Pre-study Manager - Heavy Duty Engines

We are handling the product modifications released after the commercial launch. Our team is called Maintenance Heavy Duty (HD) Powertrain and we manage HD Engines, HD Transmissions, axle and prop shaft "maintenance" changes globally for the group. Before deciding what product modification to launch, a pre-study is performed to understand business impacts and alignment with the strategy.
Purpose/description:
As Pre-Study manager for HD Engines, you will lead cross functional estimations for all new market adaptations & legal requests, cost improvements requests, and as well quality product modification requests.
You will be responsible and accountable for the maintenance projects cost estimates done in range HD Powertrain. You drive a cross functional team with engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, after-market representatives and report business cases to estimation meetings. Your work brings value added to the Volvo Group by keeping a holistic view and securing that product changes proposed are coherent with longer term product strategy.
• Drive product maintenance pre-studies for Product Modification Requests (PMR) HD engines Europe and Global,
• Drive cross functional decision inputs for Heavy Duty Engines in Estimation and Decision meetings,
• Secure pre-study lead-time achievement with your cross functional team,
• Coordinate with key accounts of Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE), Volvo Penta (VP), Volvo Bus (VBC)
• Ensure that product changes proposed includes appropriate validation plans with constant quality focus,
• Secure that proposed product changes are consistent with the quality targets
The position will be placed in Gothenburg and you will occasionally have the opportunity to travel to our other sites.

Education/Professional Qualifications required for the position:
• Powertrain product know-how

• Structured
• Open minded
• Management experience as group leader
• University degree BSc, or equivalent
• Project processes education
• Fluent in English
