We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher with a background in optics, biophysics, or related disciplines to join our research team. The focus of this position is on advancing optical tweezers techniques and developing novel nanoprobe-based sensing methods at the single-particle level.

About us
The project centers on the development of single-particle approaches for probing and sensing at the nanoscale using optical tweezers. You will contribute to both technical innovation --such as enhancing parallelized detection systems and integrating them with complementary microscopy techniques --and fundamental research, aimed at understanding the mechanisms underlying nanoparticle behavior and interactions in complex environments.
You will be joining a team led by Dr. Hana Jungová, a researcher with experience in nanophotonics, plasmonics, biomolecular interaction and optical manipulation. Our lab is dedicated to utilizing the power of light to manipulate and study matter at the nanoscale --non-invasively and with high precision.

Who we are looking for
We seek candidates with the following qualifications:
We are seeking a talented and driven individual with a PhD in physics, optics, biophysics, nanoscience, or a closely related field. The ideal candidate will have well-documented experience in experimental optics, including hands-on work with optical setups and instrumentation. Prior experience in biological applications of optical methods is considered a strong advantage.

To be eligible for this postdoctoral position, your doctoral degree must have been awarded no more than three years prior to the application deadline, in accordance with postdoctoral qualification regulations.*

Additional requirements include:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
• A demonstrated ability to conduct independent research as well as to contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment
• Experience in teaching or mentoring is desirable, and you should show good potential for contributing to both research and education

We are looking for someone with curiosity, creativity, and a genuine interest in pushing the boundaries of optical research at the nanoscale.

• The date shown in your doctoral degree certificate is the date we use, as this is the date you have met all requirements for the doctoral degree. Exceptions from the 3-year limit can be made for longer periods resulting from parental leave, sick leave or military service.

What you will do
Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in advancing experimental research in nanoprobe sensing and nanomechanics. In addition to conducting hands-on research, you may also have the opportunity to mentor and supervise master's and/or PhD students and helping them with their academic and research growth.

Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large. The position is meritorious for future research duties within academia as well as industry/the public sector.
